This is one of the members of The Magic, performing with Islands. I really love this picture, and all the white guitar details + his white woven shirt with pintucks. Very cool combination.

Plumes and Plaid

Lots of cool things here- band hat (americana insp), feather plume, sailor bracelet, pyramid stud cuff, plaid leggings, exposed zippers, studded boots...etc. All inspiring for a strap.

New!

New strap in the shop! This is the last one I will be adding before Christmas (or I'll never get my shopping done). All the other straps I have posted on here have already sold, and there are only 4 left in the shop. So if you want one, better get it quick! Otherwise, stay tuned for January.

Metal zippers

How amazing is this skirt from Phillip Lim? Its made with rows and rows of zippers, with gold metal teeth. The way he has made something so hard edged look smooth and feminine is really impressive, and definitely inspiring. I really need to get working on a strap with zippers!

Backyard Bill

I just found this new blog, Backyard Bill, which is clearly in that untouchable upper echelon of amazing artist/designer/photographer/personality blogs. It's like The Selby, but for people's own outfits. Definitely inspiring, I love the vintage and authentic look to all the people photographed.

Early Lennon

Images from this site
Ever since watching The U.S. vs. John Lennon, Lennon has been someone I really respect, on a much deeper level than just fashion. So the fact that I think he also had a great personal style, is just the icing on the cake. I love these pictures from his days before the Beatles. Such a cool retro/rockabilly look.
Which is why I'm really excited(!) they are making a movie about his early years, called Nowhere Boy
Above is a shot from the new movie. I think this style is really relevant for today, with a lot of the current trends going to back to a nostalgic/classic americana look. I'm sure this movie will be an inspiration for some guitar straps, and I can't wait to see it.

Studded Ballet

I'm joining the ranks of bloggers loving these shoes. The juxtaposition of sweet ballet slippers and spiky studs is just awesome.

Burberry Belts

I love these combinations of feminine fabrics and brown equestrian-looking leather belts from the Burberry Prorsum Sp10 runway. This was one of my favorite shows for Sp10, definitely inspiring a few guitar straps.

Local Inspiration

Three great outfits from (nearby!) streets in Seattle. This blog, Le 21eme Arrondissement, captures the absolute best of this city's style, and is a definite source of inspiration for my straps.

Leopard and Tweed

I really like this girl's combination of leopard print & tweed pants. Not two elements I had ever though of combining before, and definitely something that could make a very unique guitar strap.

Classic Coats, Bags, and a little Plaid

I love the colors and layers that these two guys are putting together. They definitely have a vintage feel, but are also very crisp and classic. And they are inspiring me to make some more straps for my gold plate series.

Really Red

Alexander McQueen
Balmain

And of course, Louboutin.

These bright red boots are amaaaazing. The red + shiny metal hardware is a cool tough/glam look, and I think I might use it on my next strap!

Olsen- Scarf/Studs/Leather

I like this outfit on Ashley Olson- its got a lot of elements I'd like to use on a strap: vintage leather, leopard print scarf, ripped denim, and studded black heels (with red soles of course).

White and Gold

I love the rows of pyramid studs on these white shorts (looks kinda like Tetris)! This is definitely an idea for a strap.

Paul Banks- Julian Plenti

Paul Banks has a well-defined sense of style I admire. Stoic, sharp, dark, and a bit awkward. And one that not many people could pull off as easily. I like this new twist he's got going for his solo record as Julian Plenti- its definitely more casual and vintage-y than the Interpol look.

Portman rocks pompadour

Natalie Portman is pretty cool. And I love this photo of her- beautiful while very androgynous. Inspiring for a tougher guitar strap.
